Autism - Moving Beyond Survival

As parents of an ASD child, it's important that we not fall into the trap of comparison in our expectations for your child. 

An autistic child's behavior can be challenging.  Here I talk about some techniques to help you keep your cool.  

Anytime we do something new for the first time; call a doctor, speak to a new teacher, take our child on a new play date experience, we are taking a first step.  As parents of an ASD child, we also have to teach our children how to take their first steps.  This podcast talks about how I go about taking a first step and some ways of how to help your child take their first steps.  More importantly, it explains why their first steps can be so very difficult for them.

As parents raising an autistic child, the difficulties of our reality can weigh us down.  This episode talks about how your perception of life is your reality and how you can change it.  Your happiness and the happiness of your child is too important to let negativity win.
